Many know V.E.L as a member of Chuck D's Hip Hop Group 'Most Hi-Fi' (www.myspace.com/mosthifi) which released their debut album 'Everything's Gonna Be Alright: The Movie' in 2006. Big V.E.L hails from the legendary streets of the Lower 9th Ward in New Orleans, currently residing in Decatur, Georgia. BIG V.E.L. as a member of Most Hi-Fi, has toured nationally with Public Enemy, Blackalicious, Dilated Peoples and Lil Brother.
Big V.E.L is currently working on his solo project and has released two new singles - 'Turn it up' and the speaker bumping, 'Marchin' Band'. Big V.E.L's solo approach is catered more to mainstream audiences and the club scene and his sound stays true to the Dirty South and every hood in it. The golden age of Hip Hop sound of Most Hi-Fi gave a launch for V.E.L. developing his industry savvy and his stage presence, also giving way to his latest offering that he promises will 'Show the world what the South really has to offer'. Production includes up and coming producers Backdraft Beats and Teen Phenom 'TEAMHOOD'.
