One of our premiere groups from Chuck D's SLAMjamz Records Imprint, Crew Grrl Order is scheduled to release their new single "1st Lady" (A Michelle Obama Tribute) the week of January 11, 2009 , one week before the historic inauguration of President-Elect Barack Obama. We would like the opportunity of having Crew Grrl Order debut the single on SLAMjamz.com . What makes this song unique and relevant is that no other musician has released a dedication to the 1st Lady, which has been acknowledged and written by the Washington Post and several other media outlets.
This initial version has been produced by DJ Johnny Juice Rosado with background strings by Paul Dateah. Crew Grrl Order has a nationally released album in stores called "B-Girl Stance", which has been very successful, leading to their upcoming spring album ALL BETS ARE OFF which will introduce the club, slamming version of FIRST LADY complete with video and remixes.
